GISBORNK.Last Night. A number of visitors have returned fiom the oil spring of the Southern Cross Company. Two ladies find several I,'ciitlcmon wore sent dow n the shaft by the manager, and as sonic of them stepped into a depth of two feet of petroleum at the bottom, they were convinced of the existence of oil.
WELLINGTON, Last Night. Between 30 and 40 Volunteer representatives left for the .South by the Arawatu this afternoon ; also seven registerkeepers and Mr J. Complaints are rife regarding the severity of the Juuior Civil Service Examination this time.
