A Baptist Mission for Rotorua. Mr Faubrother, a student, from Rpurgeon'b college, London, is expected by the next steamer from Australia, for the purpose of taking up the Maoii uuSbion work at Lake Rotorua. The step lias been taken through the exertions of Mr W. L». Snow, who guarantees a largo pioportion of the missionary's, salary, the other poition being paid by the Baptist body, under whose auspices the nii&bion is to be carried out.
The Markets. The weekly market lUt to-day contains few important alteiation&. Butter very 2)lcutiful, and the wholesale price is Stl ; ictail, 10d per lb. Potatoes, retail, from £6 to C 7 per ton. Gum is still increasing in value. In the timber maiket a genet al use of 6d per 100 ft has been made by the vaiious companies. The market for Prince Imperial closed m Auckland at 35s 6d.
