SAFETY of the LALLA ROOK H. [BY TELEGRAPH.]

New Plymouth, Yesterday. Thk Lalla Rookh arrived at Waitara last night. .She had been taking shelter in Kawhia. The captain says he left the Manukau last Wednesday, binding a strong south-westerly wind and sea, he anchored under Albatross Point. On Thursday morning, finding the sea too heavy they lifted anchor and made for Kawhia, and remained there until yesterday morning, when she left and arrived at Waitara shortly after seven last evening. The Captain reports that the statements in reference to the distress signals are wholly incorrect. The only signal was the usual recognition of steamers passing by exhibiting a light.
