Young Lord Derby took Firat Prize as a yearling at the Auckland Show, 1 878, and Fii st Pi ize as a two-year old in 1879. He was bred by A. and J. Anderson, of Kauiwhaniwha; got by Lord Derby, who, when a colt before leaving Victoria, took a number o f First Prizes. He wasbied by Mr A. Watson, High Bank Hill, Kyneton ; got by Champion of Scotland, the winner of First Prizes at the Highland Society's Shows, held at Edinbuigh in 1869. He was aho the winner several times of the Champion Gold Medal at the principal Annual Shows 111 Victoria. Young Lord Derby's dam, Fanny, got by Northern Hero, out of Queen, an imported mare from Sydney. Young Lord Derby is a rich dark bay, stands 17-1 hands, and has proved a sure foa 1 getter, and a graud temper. TERMS Single Mare £2 10s ; two or more, as per agreement. Grazing, 2s per week. Blossom's sire, Napoleon, whose stock has ne\er suffered defeat by the piogcny of any other she in New Zealand or Scotland. His siie, the imported horse Prince Charlie, bred by James Nicol Fleming, Ebq., whose stock is not equalled by any other breeder 111 Great Britain. He i^ also brother to the champion horse of Scotland, the Pi iuce of Wales, who has lately been sold foi £1500 to Mr L. Drew, of Merry ton Prince Chai lie took fiist prue in Chnstclmieh in 1572, beating a field of eight competitors, six of them imported and all aged horses but one, he himself being only three yeais old ; and the same day a special prize for the best animal ou the ground. He also gained the special prizo of £0 os, given by Mr Bishop, Mayor of Cliristchureh. Lowden Tain has proved himself a sure foal-getter, and his stock is second to none in the Colony, W. B. LAWSON, Rangiriri.
