Wkllington, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, Mr Olhvier, solicitor, applied for a new trial in the case of Jas. Jonathan Adams, recently convicted of conspiracy, on the ground that the verdict was contrary to the evidence, and secondly, th.it of misdirection. His Honor said he wished to intimate that should he grant the rule nhi lie proposed to make it returnable at a date which would allow it to be argued before other judges. The judges would very soon be in Wellington in attendance at the Court of Appeal, and there would then be au opportunity to argue the cisc before a full bench. He promised to give his decision as to granting of a rule /mi in the course of a few days.
