Cambridge, Last Night. The Trespass Case. Mr Fanthams case came on before Mr Northcroft, R.M., and Mr Wells, J.P., at 2 o'clock to-day. Mr Whitaker appeared for the plaintiff, and Messrs Hay and Russell for the defendants. Mr Pantham was the first witness called, aud the examination and cross-ex-amination lasted two and a half hours, during which many questions about the lease and sale of the property cropped up. A letter was put in evidence, aud was made invalid (it having been subsequently converted into an agreement) through not being stamped. Mr Hewitt paid the penalty of £5. The case is now proceeding, aud is expected to last over the night. The Court has been crowded all day.

Messrs W. J. Hunter and Co. will sell by auction at Cambridge on Thursday, the 12th inst., fat and store cattle and sheep, dairy cows, Sec. They will hold their first Raglan sale of the season at the Okete Yards on Tuesday, October 3lst, when they will offer about 300 head of cattle, a large number being native cattle, forward in condition. They will hold their first spring cattle fair at Ohaupo on Thursday, tho 19th inst., when they will offer a very superior lot of stock, including choice yearling bulls fronv imported stock ; four to five year old oxen. Altogether about 300 head of cattle have beeu entered, and those wishing to sell at this fair avo requested to forward entries as soon aa possible,
