ALEXANDRA.
Ouk township and Whatiwhatihoe liave been quite lively this last week past, so many disinterested friends of Wahanui and other native chiefs having been visiting. It appears to me there is no end of intrigue going on to embarass the Native Minister in his coining interview with the natives, but from what I can learn Wahanui was proof against their machinations. Tawhiao vas expected over from Kawhia to-day, but as the weather is exceedingly inclement, and he far from well, it is very doubtful that he will arrive. A good many natives left here this morning for Cambridge, to attend the Land Court there. The Alexandra Amateur Dramatic Club have two pieces in rehearsal. As the club are exceedingly fortunate in having really talented lady members amongst their number, and some new artists having lately joined the gentlemen's ranks, who are highly spoken of, a good night's amusement may be confidently expected. The performance, lam now informed, will take place on the 6th October. — [Concspondenh.]
