The Reported Murder of Abdullah Contradicted.— Theßebel Garrison at Damietta Summoned to Surrender.—The Khedive has postponed his Departure for Cairo.— Commission of Native and European Officers to prosecute those Guilty of Outrages against Europeans. Alexandria, September 21. The report which was current that Abdullah, commander at Damietta, had been shot by his troops, is now known to have been without foundation. The rebel garrison at Damietta will be forthwith summoned to surrender, otherwise the place will be bombarded by the British ironclads. The Khedive has postponed his departure for Cairo till Monday next. A commission, consisting of native and European officers has been appointed to prosecute those who have been guilty of outrages against Europeans during the rebellion. It has been arranged that British officers shall participate in the courtmartial to be held at Cairo to try the rebel officers.
Riot in Damanhaur.—The Khedive Defers his Intended Visit to Cairo. —Illness of Arabi. Alhxakdria, September 21. A riot lias occurred in Damanhaur, in which the mob attacked and beat the Governor. The rioters were arrested by British troops. The Khedive hesitates about his intended visit to Cairo. Arabi is reported to be ill, suffering from dysentry and fever.
