Gisborne, Last Night. Several large blocks of land have been taken up here lately. Mr John Herbert of Tapanui has leased from the natives 8406 acres of rich pastoral land ]6 miles from Gis> borne, and it is understood Mr J. N. Williams, of Napier, is purchasing 35,000 acres from the natives, which lies 10 miles inland from the coast. The natives wish to lease several other large tracts of country amounting to two or three hundred thousand acres.
