WAIKAT O PLOUGHING ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the committee of the above association was held in the Duke of Cambridge Hotel on Wednesday evening last. There were present : Messrs R. Kirkwood (in the chair), Heath, E. Watt; Allwill, Gemmill and E. Tucker. Some preliminary business having been disposed of, the financial position of the association was reviewed. The balancesheet showed a deficiency of £5 after paying all outstanding claims. A discussion ensued as to the best way of making up the deficiency. As several promised subscribers had not as yet paid their subscriptions, which were promised towards the last contest, it was suggested -that these gentlemen be applied to for the same, and that a committee be appointed to give effect to this suggestion. Mr Lewison's account for £7 ss, and The Waikato Times account for £7 10s were passed for payment. The next meeting was fixed for the evening of the 28th inst,, and the meeting terminated.
