The following tenders were received for the filling-in contract, Auckland passenger station : —Accepted : Bassett (Wanganui), £6,420. Declined : OBrien, (Auckland), £SSS9 ; Fallon (Auckland), £8884; Hunt and White (Auckland), £9239; Mullenger and Possett(Auckland), £10,216; Winstone (Auckland), £10,260; Kirby (Auckland), £10,333; Win. Foughey (Aucklaud), £11,593; Martin Danagher (Auckland), £11,966; Ross and Duubar (Auckland), £12,700 ; Allen Me Guire (Auckland), £13,032; Sutherland and McKiimon (Auckland), £13,685; Taylor (Auckland), £16,721. The Wellington football team are practising constantly, and consider themselves the strongest team the Sydney men will meet. The team were returning from playing a match on Saturday, when news of the Sydney defeat arrived there. Hearty cheers were given for Auckland. The Wellington men are confident of victory.
