THE PAKURASGA BOUNDS AT HAMILTON.
According to advertisement, the meet yesterday took place at Gwj line's Hotel, Hamilton, at .about half-past 2. The hunt was after a drag, and consequently only ten of the fastest dogs weie bi ought out. The run commenced at the bridge toll -house, and followed the road down to Mr J. B. Whyte's. From there the drag went across the paddocks, over ditch and bank tences, to the Hokonui road, then through Messrs Ellison and Gillett's farms, aud back into Hamilton by the Peach Giove road. The finish took place on Sydney Square, over two hurdles and a four foot jump. .An adjournment was then made to Morrin's paddock, where some of the horses were further exercised over post and rail fences. The hunt was by no means so successful as the others which have been held in the district. The scent was either bad, or the dogs have become so accustomed to hares that they would not readily follow the drag. The sport was therefore very &low. Out of the thirty or forty horsemen who took part in the hunt only three or four came to grief, and none were hurt in any degree seriously. Mr J. S. Buckland acted as master of the hunt. The pack leave Hamilton to-day for Auckland.
