ALEXANDRA. Gun Accident.
Constable McKixnon, of the A.O. Force, met with a serious accident hoie last evening while rabbit shooting. The gun burst, and inflicted wounds on his hands and forehead. The extent of the injuries is not yet ascertained, no medical assistance being available here. Captain Gascoigne is doing all in his power to obtain it notwithstanding.
The New Bridge, &c. The steamer Lilly, with bargo in tow, was unable to reach Tawhiao's new bridge yesteulay, the baige getting stuck just in the rapids. It is laden with turf for the approaches. The natives are particularly anxious for Mr Bryee's visit, anticipating that their labor will be required in the construction of the railway. Numerous buildings in the way of whares are being erected at Whatiwhatihoe.—(Own Correspondent, Tuesday).
Mr G. J. Neal, for many years the wellknown and highly respected agent for the W.S.N. Co., at Cambridge, being about to leave their employment, is open for engagement. Tenders are called by the District Engineer for the construction of station buildings of the Kaipara-Waikato lino. The L.O.L.
