WELLINGTON, Last Night.
WELLINGTON, Last Night. The first annual meeting of the Wellington Meat Export Company was held this afternoon. The 1 eport states that the reason of delay in getting machinery was, that various experiments are still being made at Home, and it was considered advisable to await the result of these, before hastily ordering a machine, which in actual working might turn out to be unsatisfactory. The directors reported that the ship Lady Jocelyn, fitted with refrigerating machinery, had been secured to load at this port with 270 tons of me.it, and 25 tons of dairy produce during the months of January and February next. Efforts were also being made to obtain other vessels. The steamer, Beautiful Star, which weut ashore at the North Spit, Westport, yesterday morning, was got off safely this morning.
