LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS. [BY TELEGRAPH.-OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
Auckland, Last Night. Dr Philson is now in a fair way of recovery. This morning, two men named Moses Rousby of Pnkekohe, and George Stains reported to the police, that on Saturday night or Sunday morning they had been robbed of a considerable sum of money. They had had stopped at the Auckland Hotel, and Rousby on retiring to rest had in his breast pocket a,sum of £33, while Stains had £6 in his trousers pock-, ets. On waking on Sunday morning they found they had been robbed of all their money with the exception of £1, .which" had been left in Rousby's pocket-book, the latter having been removed from the breast to the side pocket. -This afternoon acting-detective Jonea arrested on suspicion, a man named Thos. Binning, second mate of the recently wrecked schooner, Elizabeth' Curie. When searched, £24 7s Sd was found in his possession.
