London Markets. London, August 9. Consols have recovered the fall of £ which took place yesterday, and are today cigain at par. \ Colonial breadstuff's have suffered a decline of !s in wheat, and 6d in flour. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, is quoted at 50s, and New Zealand 48s. Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, selling at 36s 6d. Australian tallow continues quiet at 44s for best beef, and 45s 6d for best mutton ; market rate of discount been raised by | to 2j|, and is now below bank rate. New Zealand securities are without change in price.
Arrears of Eent in Ireland Bill Passed House of Lords. London, August 10, evening. In the House of Lords to-day the Arrears of Rent in Ireland Bill as amended in the Hou&o of Commons came up for reconsideration. After some discussion the peeis accepted the amendments which were made to various claims upon motions of Mr Gladstone, and the bill was read the third time and passed.
