Breach of Dog Registration Act. Augustus Vixoent was chaigcd with committing a bieach of the Pog Registration Act, fSSO, by having a dog in his keeping scaring a labelled collar issued in respect of a dog belonging to one Francis Crawford. The defendant pleaded guilty, but said his boy had found the collar in a furze bush, and had put it on the dog. The Bench inflicted a line of 10s and costs.
Damaging Property. John Hunter ani> CiiAHTiEb Roffjsy, two lads, were ehaiged, on the information of Sergt. McGovei n, with committing a breach of the Malicious Injury to Property Act, by damaging the approaches to the No. I Jiiidge, Borough of Hamilton, to the extent of 15s>. Evidence was led to show that the defendants had pulled up some of the 1 titree fencing, and had attempted to burn the facines, by which act the salety of the bridge was endangered.' ) • , { For the defence, a witness named Manning deposed that the approaches wcic in a vciy bad sfatd, and tluat'tlie facines were too wet to catcli fire. ITis Worship considered the charge proved, and inflicted a fine of, .2s each, with damages and costs amounting to £2.
Civil Case. J. M. Gkllixu (rate collector Borough of Hamilton) v. Walter Paul. — Claim £3 15s 3d for rates, Mr Hay for plaintiff. Judgment was reserved pending enquiry as to whether amount paid into LI.M. Court at Onehunga included costs.
