The ball given by the members of ; the Armed Constabulary stationed here, on Wednesday last, was' a most enjoyable one for those present. Some one hundred invitations were, issued and the Public Hall was comfortably filled. The decorations were remarkably nsat, and were a great credit to the members of ,the committee who performed the work. •' The Awamutn band' under their bandmaster,: Mr Sibley, attended, so ,it is hardly necessary to state the music was. all, that could be desired.
