ENTERTAINMENT AT KIHIKIHI

Tub entertainment given by the Wai pa Dramatic Club in conjunction with the members of the A.C. Force, came off on Friday last, although the rain continued during the whole of the day, until near the time for opening the hall ; the drama, " WiUlb of Corsica," was played with ths usual spirit. The ajjpearance of Miss Palmer in the character of "Mrs Falcon" with song, "My Mountain Home," brought forth well - deserved applause from the audience. The brave boy, " Fortimato," by Master Berry deserves equal praise. The whole of the other characters were well sustained by the members of the club. The farce, "Irish Tiger," was unquestionably a brilliant success. Mr Fitzpatrick as " Alderman Marrowfat," and Mr K. Patterson as "Brother Bilberry," both of the A.C, played their characters with spirit, and deserve great praise. Mr C. G. Thomas, who played ' ' Paddy Ryan " being an old actor, we should expect more from him than any amateur, and undoubtedly his was the part, bringing the house down with roars of laughter and applause during the whole time of his performance. " Sir Charles Lavender," by Mr T. Neal, an English baronet, in so frequently forgetting the brogue in trying to imitate the rustic Irishman, caused great merriment. " Miss Julia" by Mrs Kichdale, was exceedingly good. " Nancy" by Mrs Thomas was equally well sustained. The audience went away well satisfied with the performance. The dancers kept up a lively time of it until daylight in the morning. — [A Correspondent.]
