Mr Hegg has received cable advices that the s.s. Marala, 2,(500 tons, left the Clyde on June 17, for Port Chalmers, there to load frozen meat. The Equitable Investment Society has declared ten per cent dividend on the half-year. Mr G. C. Matheson writes to the creditors in Shepherd's estate that he was so far siiccesfnl in inducing Shepherd to see the error of his ways as to cause him to make partial restitution. He has recovered several hundred pounds, from which some heavy expenses will be de« ducted.
