The Wellington Harbour Board and Corporation Land Act, 1880, Amendment Bill, and the Ashburton County Council Empowering Bill were read a second time, and the Nelson College Act, 1858, Amendment Bill, a third time with debate. The remainder of the sitting was in Council 'on the Mining Companies Act, 1872, Amendment Bill, which was reported with Several small amendments. The Committee which has enquired into Mr Pharazyn's case, reported recommending that they .concurred with the opinion of the judge and jury at the trial, that his voting cwice was by an honest mistake, and recommended that he should be freed from all civil disabilities, under which he is now labouring. - ' The Council rose at 4.25.
