Wellington, Last Night. Mr Dick has brought in a Borough of Hamilton Boundaries Bill, by which it is proposed that the Borough of Hamilton shall be deemed to have been in existence from 24th December, 1877. There has been a decrease of 953 general offences in the North Island and of 249mthe South, giving a total throughout the colony of 1202. The offences return of the North Island for the year 1881, shows 7567 offences reported, 220 offences committed for trial, 5241 summarily convicted, and 1382 discharged, as against, in 1880, 8520 offences reported, 309 offenders committed for trial, 6159 summarily convicted, and 1611 discharged. The return for the South Island for 1881 shows 9068 offences reported, 249 offenders committed for trial, 9858 summarily convicted, aud 1869 discharged, as against, in 18S0, 9317 offenders reported, 280 offenders committed for trial, 7056 summarily convicted and 1398 discharged.
