TE AROHA GOLDMINING NEWS. (Saturday's Mail.)

The manager of the Premier, Mr Gavin, brought down a few stones showing gold, which had just been blasted out of the foot-wall lode. Gentle Annie. — A fair amount of prospecting has been clone on this claim, and within the last week good prospects of loose gold have been obtained, as well as three small stringers showing gold. Tiirke Fools.— Prospecting woik on this claim progresses, with good results. A new lode was met with this week in the low level, and some stone brought down and tested yesterday gave a very encouraging prospect. Bonanza. — The old Bonanza and the original prospectors'ground, at Te Aroha, is being worked muter the management of Mr Goldsworthy, the former manager of the claim. During the week a parcel of very excellent gold-bearing stone, obtained in the Bonanza ground, has been exhibited at Mr Lavery's store, and at Mr O'Halloran's. Diamond Gully. — This mine has shown a great improvement within the past week. The men are still continuing the drive, and are taking out very good stone, gold being freely seen in every breaking down. New Find. — The la3t week's work in this mine has shown that our conjecture about the new reef being the Eureka lode is correct. The men are still stripping the lode, which shows fair gold. The Martha Crushing,— The cleaning up for the Martha company, at Waihi, resulted in a return of 111 ozs. of gold from 225 tons of stone crushed. the return would justify millitig all the stone taken out. It is Exceedingly satisfactory to find that the gold is exceptionally rich quality, realising £3 4s 8d per ounce. The ground will be resurveyed and partially manned at once.
