Auckland, Last Night. Education Regulations. The Board of Education will consider at an early date the regulations to compel teachers in the public schools to send both good and bad scholars to the standard examinations.
Professor Swallow. Mr Martin Swallow's creditors have refused Mr Lennox's offered purchase of their claims for £40, and decline to agree to any such composition.
A Sad Case, William Crossby, a well educated young man, of good connections, who came here with the Katikati settlers, has been sent to gaol for a month for stealing a coat.
The Nelson. 4 The warship Nelson arrived this afternoan. She was welcomed by a salute of artillery from the Albert Park. The Mayor and councillors go off to welcome the commodore to-morrow.
