AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS IN ENGLAND.
London, June 21. The cricket match at Sheffield between the Australian cricketers and the eleven of Yorkshire concluded to-day. The visitors who at the close of yesterday's play had put together 25 runs for the loss of no wickets resumed battiog, and succeeded ill making the required number of runs—99, for four wickets only —thus winning the m >teh by six wickets. The principal scorers were: Massie, caught, 44 ; and Bannerman, 36.
caught, London, June 22. The Australian cricketers commenced their match with the Gentlemen of England, at Kennington Oval, to-day. The attendance of spectators was large, and the visitors met with a cordial reception on entering the field.. The following are names of the Gentlemen : —Messrs A. G. Studd, C. T. Studd, J. B. Studd, C. F. Leslie, W. H. Patterson, W. G. Grace, A. W. Hornby, A. W. Lucas, W. W. Read, E. T. S. Aylecoft, and Ram3ay. The Australians went in first on a capital -wicket, the ground being in good order,' succeeded in running up a score rapidly, despite the excellent fielding of the Englishmen, 192 runs being ob-, tamed for the loss of only four wickets.
