Sir G-. Grey's Deferred Payment Settlers Belief Bill
Sir George Grey's Deferred Payment Settlers Relief Bill provides that any deferred payment settler who finds it impossible to pay the instalments due by him in respect of his purchase from, the Crown may at any time apply to the court hereafter appointed, to fix a fair amount he should be required to pay for the land, and thereupon the court, considering all the circu instances of the case, the quality of the land purchased, and the district, may determine what should be a fair price for such land, the price so fixed by the court to be the price payable by applicant, and such determination shall be final and binding on all parties concerned, without removal by appeal, writ of ecrtiorari, or otherwise ; the court under this act shall consist of one or more commissioners to be appointed by the Governor, of whom the district court judge may be one, no selector shall at any one time apply for more than one section of deferred payment land, and the price and area of the land for which selectors shall be entitled to make application for, shall be fixed respectively by the Ministers, and when more applications than one are made on the same day for the same land on deferred payments, such applications shall bo disposed of by ballot.
