RAILWAY MANAGEMENT.

TO THE KDITOR. Sir, — I see that there is a continual growl kept up through the papers on account of the present railway management. Now, Mr Editor, if the railway is really mismanaged, and worked to the disadvantage _of the public at large I should think it would he an easy matter to request the Mayor of Hamilton to convene a meeting to take into consideration the advisability of laying out a scheme by which the line could be worked to greater advantage to all parties, and then requesting our present members for Waikato and Waipa to bring the matter before the House, and use their influence to l)i ing the thing to a happy termination for all parties. On the other hand, we must take into consideration the enormous amount of responsibility that lays on our present manager's shoulders, and should he be doing his utmost to work the line to the greatest advantage, and at the same time to curtail expenses, I think it would be a most unmanly thing on the part of anyone to be continually writing, harping, and picking at him, as I am sure this continual letter writing must largely detract his power of attending to the lino, and at the same time would greatly dishearten any one in the same situation,— l am, &c., E.J.M,
