HAMILTON DOMAIN BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of the board was held last night. — Present : Messrs J. Knox (chairman),* Peat, Jones, Bradley and Vialou. — The secretary read a letter from the Minister of Lands stating that the 20 acres .town belt applied for could not be granted until it was known whether the land was required by the Public Works Department. — The follow ing tenders were received for repairing Seddon's drain : E. Wilson, 14s 3d per chain ; G. Brown, 14s ; J. Smith 7s (accepted). — The Secretary reported that several applications had been made for domain sections, and it was resolved to put the remaining unleased sections up to auction at the upset prices formerly agreed upon. — The chairman drew attention to the necessity for making some concessions to the tenants of the board who had improved their lands. He moved that tenants who hatfe their lauds under cultivation should have half a-year's rent remitted. — Failing to find a seconder, the motion lapsed. — Mr Jones then moved that no action be taken in the matter until a legal opinion has been obtained from Mr F. A. Whitaker. — This was seconded by Mr Peat and carried. — On the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr Vialou, it was resolved to form a footpath 6 feet wide along the margin of the Lake, from the Ohaupo road to Hill-steet, the members present to be a committee to lay out the path with power to get the work done.— This was all the business of importance.
