Sir,— Mi- T. G Sandes has either little regard for the truth, or ia totally unacquainted with it. affix his signature to above, as to correctness of information imparted, stated, that on Friday last, the contractor, Mr T. G. S., brought a contra account, which still leaves a balance of twelve shillings in his, J. C.'s, favour and I have it on unquestionable authority that there is still over a quarter of a century owing to \Y. L., and a little chaff to J. C. There would have been nothing about what T. G. S. owed on the Square, or what lie did not owe, only for the giatuitous untruth (to the best of my knowledge and belief) that he had paid money out of his own pocket to men employed by the committee. I find there would be exactly four pounds (£4) due and owing to the contractor if the Squat c had been properly finished, instead of barely half. Flat contradictions with nothing to back them up, are— well, perhaps enough said. — I am, &c, William Cumming.
