In the course of the communications which have passed between the Turkish Government and the A mbassadors of the Powers, the Umiul Vizier lias taken occasion to xeitciate the demand of the Porte that the English and the French ironclads should be withdrawn from Alexandria, adding that by such a step aione can order be restored in Egypt. Cairo, May 32. No formal demand has yet been made by the foreign consuls upon the Egyptian Government in view of the present crisis, but informal parleying has taken place with the Khedive to induce Arabi Pasha, and generals who aic supporting him, to leave Egypt. London, May 22. Michael Davitt, who was recently released on a ticket of leave, addressed a meeting of adherents of the Land League at Manchester to-day, and in the course of his speech strongly advocated the complete abolition of landlords in Ireland, and urged active steps towards that end.
