TE AROHA. The Mines.

Eureka. —A trial lot of two tons of quartz taken from the shaft and treated at Gvahamstowii, has quite recently given the following result: 3oz Bdwts of retorted gold, which, when melted, produced 3oz 4dwts of gold; this is an equivalent to loz 12dwts per ton, and, considering the rock thus treated has been taken promiscuously from a 4ft. reef, should go to show that we may reasonably expect a prosperous future from the above claim. The gold has been valued at £2 ]4s Sd per ounce.—[Own Correspondent, April 23th.]
