The reply by co-respon-dent is^that if adultery has been -committed it lias been condoned, inasmuch that petitioner has been guilty of adultery and cruelty. The Star to-night, m replying to the press association' telegram, that' the police, Bergt. Mahon, of Napier, had commenced legal proceedings to clear himself from the charge of writing to Sergt. Kidd, asking him to use his influence on behalf of Ormond in Wdipawa, says it is not so easily bounced as the Napier Telegraph appears to have been, and publishes in extenw a letter from Mahon to Kidd,, telling him to use all his influence to induce Ormond to withdraw, as Ormond was the only man who could carry on war effectively against the present Government, and so secure justice o the police. !
