Mr Smith, the member for Westminster will submit a motion in the House of Commons early in May in favor of the State purchasing the interest of land lords in Ireland with a view of creating a peasant proprietary, which proposal will receive the support of the Conservative party. While agreeing to suspend execution of Dr. Lamson's sentence for murder at Wimbledon until the 28th inst, Sir W. Harcourt distinctly intimated that the evidence hitherto received from America respecting prisoner's alleged insanity is valueless. The reported discovery of a Nihilist plot to blow up the Cathedral of the Assumption which is situated at the summit of the hill of Kremler at Moscow, on the coronation of the Czar has occasioned sensation at Court. Louis Melikoff has been summoned to St. Peterburg to devise measures for the safety of the Czar at the approaching coronation. Wochenblatt, a newspaper publisher in Germany, condemns the scheme to unite England and France by the construction of a tunnel under the English Channel.
