HAMILTON DEBATING CLUB.

The first meeting of the ISB2 session of the Hamilton Chess and Debating Club was held in the Court-house on Thursday evening. The chair was occupied by the rething Pie&ident, Mr James Hume, and there was a fair attendance of members. — The first business brought before the meeting was the election of President, and on the motion of the Chairman of Committee (Rev. D. Fulton), seconded by Mr John Knox, Mr Hume was unanimously re-elected to the office. — Mr Hume thanked the club in suitable terms, and hoped that during the ensuing year the members would manifest increased interest in the objects of the society.
