THE WAIKATO CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the above association was held at Delaneys Ohaupo Hotel on Apvil 20th. Piesent : Messrs Wood (in the chair), Cotton, Grierson, Tonks and Palmer. The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed, the chairman requested the secretary to read the balance-hheet of the English Match Committee, which showed the amount of the expendituture to be £183 2s lid, and the receipts £165 Is sd. Proposed by Mr Tonks and, seconded by Mr Wood, and carried, "That the balance-sheet as read bo adopted, and that the secretary be empowered to get in all the subscriptions due to the association, and pay of the deficit with the association funds. The meeting also accorded hearty votes of thanks to Mr Whitaker for his energetic endeavours in promoting and bringing about the English match; also to Messrs Gwynne, Carter and Edgecumbe for their assistance towards this match ; also to the general public for their generous support. Proposed by Mr Grievson and seconded by Mr Cotton, and carried, " That Mr John Goodfellow be requested to act as vice-president, itcc Mr D. B. Hindle, resigned." Proposed by Mr Tonks and seconded by Mr Palmer, and earned, " That the county match take place at Cambridge, on Saturday, 29th April, at 10 a.m., and that the next meeting of the association take place at Cambridge, at the Duke of Cambridge Hotel, inimediately after the match on the 29th inst." The following were then selected as players for the county match : — Waipa — Messrs Tonks, Palmer, Pilling, W. Hunt, Gleeson, Soper, Grierson, Benge, T. Bond, Lang, Nicholson and Langdale, with Hinton, Bodilly and Buttle as extra men. Waikato — Messrs Forrest, Browning, Smith, Stafford. Cotton, N. Hunt, Fitzpatrick, Wood, Speed, Ormerod, Stubbing and Cooper, with Pickerings as an extra. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
