This Association is promoted to supply a want in Waikato — to stimulate cooperation and combination amongst the Waikato fanning community, upon the principle that unity gives strength and co-operation affords a guarantee for mutual benefit, the best value for produce, and most economical method of working crops, or other farming opera* tions. The experiments made during past seasons have proved sufficiently satisfactory to wan-ant the opinion that Waikato lands will grow a superior quality of Wheat, Oats, Barley, or other Grain, and yield a very satisfactory average. The Waikato holdings being freehold, are owned for the most part by settler* who have not the requisite plant for undertaking the growing of Grain crops, and by many who have not the necessary capital themselves, but who would be willing to put portions of their farms under grain crops if they had the cooperation of this Association. The Waikato at present does not grow nearly sufficient grain to supply its local requirements, and from the fact that its population is constantly increasing and with the rich prospects and magnitude of the Te Aroha Goldfield in view, a lai'ge demand for the products of a mill may be confidently expected, the purchase or erection of a flour mill or mills and granariei will therefore be one of the main object* of the Association. The benefits to small settlers taking shares will be very great, as they will secure a certain market for their farm products, participating in the profits of the Association, besides being able to work their farms at the lowest possible outlay and risk to themselves. Another object of the Association will be the erection of a suitable slaughteryard in the Waikato district for the purpose of supplying the Auckland marktt with meat, or otherwise disposing of same. The Association also propose the establishment of cheese, butter and bacon factories in central positions. Nevertheless, the Directors of the Association will exercise their discretion in selecting one or other of the various objects set forward in the Prospectus, to start operations upon in case they deem it imprudent to commence all at the same time, and the works undertaken will be progressive, and not of an unwarrantable magnitude at the onset. Applications for shares to be made to the Secretary, W. A. Graham, Tamahere Estate, Hamilton, and to Frater, Bros., Auckland, or T. Y. Fitzpatrick, Ngaruawahia.
PROSPECTUS OF THE WAIKATO FELLMONGERY COMPANY (Limited), Ngarttawahia. It is proposed to erect, at Ngaruawahia, a Felltnongery (site yet to be chosen by the Directors), suitable to treat all the skins procurable in the Waikato anil other districts. The position of Ngaruawahia is most suitable for a business of this kind, having such communication by rail, river and roads, the water of the Waipa river also being considered of the best quality for the purpose. It is proposed, when the Fellmongery has been made a success, to further ex« tend the Company's operations by erecting a Soap and Candle Factory, *as the business of Fellmongery and Soap and Candle works are twin sisters. It is also intended to extend- the business still further by adding a tannery, after the former has been properly established, and to follow with a wool-scouring business. This ig considered to be the beginning of a number of industries in Ngaruawahia, which necessarily must follow, and which will greatly assist the farming industry, and cause all the land in the neighbourhood to be put under cultivation and made remunerative. It is anticipated that 2,000 shares will be taken up by local settlers. Shares will be procurable from Messrs J. S. I Edgecojibb, Hamilton ; E. L. Hope, Alexandra ; E. W. Roche, Te Awamutu ; S. Bright, Cambridge; and from the Broker, atbisoffice, Queen-street, Ngaruawahia.
