The steamer Patterson has gone ashore at the entrance to the river, near North Cliff. She is on soft mud, and is "expected - to be easily got off. Appliances for getting her off will be sent here. : She was in charge of Captain ' Edwards, < and -was owned by the Patea Steam Shipping Company. The vessel is insured.
