GOLD FROM TE AROHA.
* A gentleman who recently visited the Aiolia and wiote an account of his visit to the Herald, brought away some" specimens from various claims which "he has had essayed. The specimens, our contemporary s t vys " were tor warded to gentlemen of responsibility in Auckland, and by them sent to the Bank of New Zealand for assay. In the interests of the mining public} especially of that particular portion now commencing the developement of this promising goldfield, those gentlemen deem it right to publish the result of the assay. The names of the four claims are withheld, that other claims, probably equally rich, may not be depreciated in public esteem. Pieces of quartz from the reef croppings in other claims were not broken off, simply because of the difficulty of carrying the weight of stone.
The gold results of the assays lie for in- ■ spection at the offices of Messrs. Erater Brothers, Exchange .Buildings.
