THE PATETERE LANDS.
We learn that a cablegram has been received by Mr S. Jackson, on behalf of the vendors of the Patetere estate, to the effect that the agreement for the sale of the land has been completed in London. The terms, we understand, are substantially those we have already stated in our columns. Mr Halcombe will at once proceed to organise the operations for the settlement of the land, and no time will be lost in this essential work. The land will be occupied as rapidly as good access can be given to the settlers. This essential to successful settlement will be looked to, as it has been Mr Halcombe's principle in the blocks of land, which he has already colonised never to place settlers on land where the difficulties of their position are converted into impossibilities oy want of access to their land. Some of the land is easily available now, and that, we presume, will be the first occupied. — Herald.
