[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night.
The chief Takaru, of Mokau, states that he is well pleased with the working of the Native Lands Court at Waitahi. and is determined to assist Te Wetere in getting the Lands Court set at Mokau as soon as possible. He also states he is quite willing to allow a good road through the Mokau district northwards. An enterprising settler has opened business at Mokau, and started the trade of shipping cattle to the Auckland market. Parnell, charged with attempted rape on Mrs Daniells, at the Windsor Castle hotel, was again brought up and again remanded, owing to Mrs Daniells being too ill to attend the Court. Sir W. Fox has paid the Waiti natives a visit. They will not consent to have their lands sub-divided.
