The discussion in the House of Commons on the Premier's motion for the adoption of a modified form of the clBture was continued to a late hour last night, and was at length further adjourned. In the course of the debate, Lord Hartington announced that the Government had definitely decided to make the proposal for the , cloture a Cabinet question, arifl to stand or fall by the result. The death is announced to-day of Sir John Hodes Dickenson Knight, aged 76. The deceased was formerly Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. The mutton ex steamship Protos realised an average of s^d per lb. The meat had suffered by a temporary stoppage of the refrigerating machinery on the voyage, and had in consequence become somewhat soft.
