HARAPEPE.

Thb adjourned meeting of the householders of this district, for the election of a new school committee was held in the school-house on Saturday, the 25th. The advertised time was 7 p.m., but it was neai'er 9 before a meeting could be held, and then four was the extent of the muster — rather a disgraceful state of affairs. I think every person having children at the school should take an interest in the management of it. A report of the school expenses, etc., was read and adopted. The attendance under the half-time system is much better than during the whole, although all the children that are able to attend are not doing so, and the Board were requested to resume the whole time again. The old committee were re-elected, with one exception, but as they were not all present it is optional with them to accept or decline — a rather unsatisfactory way of doing business. The three candidates for election to the Board of Education that our new committee voted for were Messrs Clark, Moss, and McKenzie. The weather for the past week has been very favorable to the growth of grass in this district, plenty of rain and mild warm weather. Ministers of religion of every denomination seem to have quite forgotten that theie is s>uch a place as Harapepe, as we have not had a service here but once siuco the llev. Mr Bruce left the Waikato. — [Own Correspondent, March 9th.]
