The Bank of England to-day reduced the rate of discount to 4 per cent.
Capetown, March 8. A telegram from the Transvaal states that further severe fighting has taken place between the Boers and the natives under the chief Coutsimia, residing beyoud the boundary fixed by the Convention. The Boers attacked, but were repulsed with heavy loss on each occasion.
