THE ATTEMPT ON THE QUEEN'S LIFE. (REUTERS TELEGRAMS.) London, March 3.
Tub Queen continues well, her health having in no way suffered in consequence of the attemp on her life, universal sypathy is manifested towards Her Majesty. Telegrams have been received to-day from various foreign Courts testifying to the sympathy which is felt, and expressing gratification at Her Majesty's providential escape from injury. The bullet which was fired from the assailant's revolver has been found near the scene of the outrage. The prisoner Roderick McLean was brought up to-day at the Police Court, charged with making an attempt on the Queen's life. He was quite collected, showing no signs of insanity, and pleaded that poverty drove him to commit the outrage. He declared that he had no intention of murdering Her Majesty. He was remanded to Friday next.
