PORT ALBERT, Last Night. Despite the four days rain and the impaired condition of the road, the show yesterday was very successful. The number of entries was 341, viz., 222 produce, 119 live stock, as against 275 last year, while in most cases there was a marked improvement in the quality. The judges were Messrs Joseph May. Barriball, Mair, Angove, Coupland, and Palmer.
NAPIER, Last Night. At the Hawke's Bay Racing Club's meeting, the weather was fine. For the Maiden Plate, A.G. was first, Laird, second, and Karakiki third. Time 2min 20sec.
CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Mr Richardson has definitely announced himself as a candidate for Stanmore.
