THE PROPOSED FARMERS' CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION.
At a meeting of farmers held at Camp's Tamahere Hotel, on Monday, Mr Barugh being elected chairman, a resolution was adopted that an association be formed, to be called the Waikato Farmers' Cooperative Association, Limited, with a capital of £10,000, in £1 shares, for the purpose of stimulating the growing of cereals in Waikato, and seeking the best market for the general farming produce of the district. A provisional board of directors was formed, consisting of Messrs Barugh, Main, Martyri, S. S. Graham, Payton, Pearson, Pickering and Smith, with power to add to their number, and a committee was appointed to diaw out a prospectus, and canvass the district for support. 'It was also resolved to erect a floxir mill upon a guarantee from the surrounding farmers to grow at least 600 acres of wheat, and a site for the mill was selected near Hautapu, in Crawfords gully, on the boundary creek between the Tamahere and Cambridge Highway Districts. Mr W. A. Graham consented to act as hon. sec. pro Icm to the association.
