THE HON. J. HALL AT ROTORUA. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Ohinemutu, Tuesday.
The Maoris continued addressing the Premier for over two hours, which delayed his departure for Rotomahana considei'ably. All the matters were of great importance to the district and the residents, but not of general public interest. They specially urged the prosecution of the road from Cambridge, and the Premier promised to have the road completed before winter. A question about the licensing law was also raised, against the prohibition to supply the Maoris. They urged that understanding, that there was but one law for themselves and the Europeans. The natives also wanted a school established to teach the boys Eui'opean trades. The Premier promised consideration. The Premier left for Rotomahana. It it expected that he will return to-mor-row, and proceed to Napier via Taupo. Sir JohnO'Shanassay is here, and a large number of other visitors. The Government land sale on the 7th is likely to prove a great success.
