RAGLAN STONE.

It is gratifying to hear that Raglan stone is being more and more extensively used in Auckland according as its good qualities come to be better known. I notice that it has been used in the erection of the new Opera House, the Masonic Hall, and in the wall round the Albert Park. I only hope that this is but a precursor to greater things, and that before many years the exportation of this stone may assume greater proportions than it shows at present. Messrs Bell and Bruce have started another quarry close to that formerly owned by Mr Ellis. I wish them every success iv their new venture. A large quantity of stone now lies here waiting shipment to Onehunga. — (Own Correspondent).
