LECTURE BY, AND PRESENTATION TO THE REV. HENRY BULL.
As the Rev. Mr Bull's departure from Cambridge is near at hand, at the invitation of the members of the local Change Lodge he consented to deliver a sort of farewell lecture, taking for his subject, "John Knox and the Reformation of Scotland." The principal object of the reunion was to make the flew gentleman a presentation, as a mark of appreciation of his services as chaplain of the Lodge, and as spiritual instructor in the district. The Public Hall was comfortably filled with a very attentive and appreciative audience, the platform being occupied by the officers of the lodge in regalia. Mr C. D. Macintosh, in introducing the lecturer, delivered a very interesting prelude, dwelling principally on the valuable nature of Mr Bull's services during his sojourn in the Waikato. The lecture was very interesting, and was listened to throughout with much attention, the audience frequently applauding. At the conclusion of the lecture Mr Mackintosh, on behalf of the Orange Society of Cambridge, presented Mr Bull with three beautifully bound volumes of Wylie's '•History of Protestantism." The present was suitably acknowledged. The following was the musical programme of the evening : — Song, ''Golden Days,' Mrs Kennck ; song, " Happy be my Dreams," Mr Lynds (encoied) ; song, " Rest," Mrs Kenrick. Mr Mackintosh played the accompaniments.
