NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that Mr George Lipsey has been appointed RANGER for the protection of growing timber upon the banks of the Waihou River, within the boundaries of the above county, and is also authorised to prevent persons cutting drains through the road on either side of the beforementiened river without the written permission of the Chairman of the Piako County Council. rjIHAMES VALLEY AND ROTOEUA L RAILWAY. The undersigned is authorised to offer a premium of five hundred pounds to any one who can point out a route by which the length of that section of the above Railway extending between Okoroire and Rotorua may be materially shortened, as compared with a route via Kokoko. Such route to have curves not less than five chains in radius, and gradients not .steeper than 1 in 40, with works practicable in the opinion of the Directors. Any .route so proposed must be cut and a » magnetic traverse plotted, Statements accompanied by a traoing of the route will be received at my office not later than Monday 15th May next.
